Lego Robotics -- Introduction

Lego Robotics -- Introduction

Lego Robotics uses the motivational advantages of robotics to teach math, science and technology concepts. In Lego Robotics, students have the opportunity to progress through a series of workshops to manipulate, experiment and master the construction and programming of different robotic devises. The different levels of this robotic program build upon one another so that students first learn how to utilize the Lego material and software and eventually create and write programs of their own. Using a combination of Lego pieces, motors, sensors and a Lego microprocessor, students create and problem solve through a number of different projects. These projects help students learn how to engineer and program various robotic devises that must accomplish a variety of tasks. At this level student become familiar with the Lego Robotics material by building 4 different robotic models and programming them to do various tasks. The final project introduces them to some of the content that other, more advanced Lego Robotics Workshops will entail.
