In this workshop, students will explore concepts involved in the science and engineering of amusement park rides. Using special K'nex kits, students will build and experiment with a roller coaster, whirl ride, ferris wheel, and drop swing. Using pre-activities and construction of projects, students will familiarize themselves with concepts like, Newtons Laws of Motion, momentum, velocity, gravity, microgravity, centripetal force, potential & kinetic energy and many others. Each workshop will involve 8 hrs. of hands-on activity and experimentation.
